“We need people who can be innovative, who can think differently.” –Sir Ken Robinson
“High-quality arts education provides young people with opportunities to learn valuable academic, social-emotional, cognitive, and other 21st century skills.” –Willona M. Sloan
The Art Department of Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School is designed to challenge young women to engage the imagination, foster flexible ways of thinking (both creatively and critically), develop disciplined effort, build self-confidence and teach technical skills for personal expression.
This program will assist young women in developing a more thorough understanding and appreciation of art as a unique record of diverse cultures and artistic styles. It is the belief of the Art Department that preparation in the arts will be valuable in providing compassionate ways of understanding, appreciating and responding to human beings and nature.
